Texann Grace Merzoian

Texann Grace Merzoian (80) of Toledo, WA. passed away on February 12, 2024. She was preceded in her death by her half  brothers Glen and Denny, half sister Lois and Brandy and grandson Andrew. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Art Merzoian, her half sisters, Laura, Bonnie, Judy, Betsy and Cindy, her four boys, Greg, Darel, Don and Scott and numerous grand children and great-grand children. 

Texann was born in Longview, WA. in 1943 to Alice Moore and Maurice "Tex" Apling. She was an only child, but had several step-sisters and step brothers. She lived in Kelso, WA. during her early years until her mother passed away when she was 14 years old. Texann graduated from Toledo High School in 1961, then married her high school sweetheart the following fall. Together, they settled down in Toledo to raise their four boys. She was very proud of her children and grand children. She spent endless hours in gyms and on the fields, supporting them throughout their athletic careers. She also had a passion for music and was part of a local group called the Dream Weavers that performed at senior centers in the local area.

Before retiring, Texann was a fixture in the community working at the local pharmacy. She enjoyed chatting with customers and sharing stories about Toledo. People often stopped by the pharmacy just to talk with her to find out what was happening in town.

To honor Texann’s memory, a Celebration of Life will be held on March 1st at Toledo First Baptist Church at 11:00am. Graveside service is immediately after at Lone Hill Cemetery. A Gathering to follow at the Toledo First Baptist Church around 1:00 pm. We invite anyone who knew Texann to attend and remember her wonderful life. (If you are able to bring a dish for the potluck, the family would be grateful.)
