In Loving Memory of Judith Lynn Calvin

Judith Lynn Calvin, affectionately known as Judy, was born on July 21, 1938, in Hood River, Oregon, to Vivian and Howard Getchell. She passed away on September 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, family, and cherished memories. Judy grew up alongside her brothers, Richard, Roger, and Ronald. Her brother Roger predeceased her. 

On November 9, 1956, Judy married Robert Edwin Evans. Together, they shared 45 years of marriage and raised three children: Robert “Bob” Howard, Susan “Sue” Elizabeth, and Patricia “Tricia” Ruth. Robert preceded Judy in death on November 2, 2002. Their daughter, Tricia, also predeceased her mother.

Judy later married Leonard Calvin on February 25, 2006. They made their home together in Ferndale, Washington, until Leonard’s passing.

Family was the heart of Judy’s life. She devoted herself not only to raising her own children, but also to caring for her extended family. She helped raise her nieces and nephews and opened her heart and home to three of her grandchildren, raising them as her own. She gave them love, guidance, stability, and the unwavering care that only Judy could provide.

Judy’s family meant everything to her. She was always there when someone needed her, giving her time, love, and whatever she could to make sure her family was cared for. Her generosity and devotion touched generations of her family and created a legacy that will live on through them.

Judy is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Evans; her daughter, Susan “Sue” Nelson; her son-in-law, L.G. Nelson; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Judy’s greatest legacy is the family she loved so deeply. She was a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, wife, and a source of love and strength to so many. The memories she created and the love she gave will continue through the generations who were fortunate enough to know her.
