Jerry Dean Hill, 85, passed away on October 26th, 2025, at St. Peters Hospital in Olympia, Washington, surrounded by family and friends. Jerry was born at home to his parents Ruby V. and Harless E. Hill in Dickenson County, Virginia.

Jerry came to Washington with his family at the age of 15 and attended Toledo High School. At the age of 16 Jerry left school and joined the Washington State National Guard and then at 17 he joined the Army where he served for eight years. In 1960, while in the Army he married Irene Nash. After the Army Jerry worked at Weyerhaeuser until he retired. Jerry also served as a Lewis County Reserve Deputy Sheriff from 1980 to 1988.

Jerry loved to hunt and fish; he was an avid outdoorsman. He spent a lot of time in the Toledo community volunteering at the Toledo Fire Department, the Little League as well as the Jackson Prairie Church Food Bank. Jerry was also a life-time VFW member where he cooked and called Bingo games.

Jerry is survived by his three children; his son Charles Hill, two daughters Tena, and Jerri Lea (Randy), and his eight grandchildren; Randi Elaine, Leslie, Travis, Zaxhary, Zebulyn, Hall-e, Stratton, Jessicca as well as 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his uncle Avon Hill, his brother Billie (Rosealee) Hill, his sisters Violet Sterns, Nancy (Roy) Towry, and Oneta Hill, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jerry is preceded in death by the mother of his children Irene, his mother and father, his sister Thelma (June) Bell, his brother’s J.C., Roger, and Gerald (Doc) his sidekick and best friend.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 5th, 2025, at Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel in Toledo, WA with Graveside Service to follow at Lone Hill Cemetery in Toledo, WA.
