Diane Elaine Thayer of Toledo, WA, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the age of 79.
Diane was born on October 13, 1946, in Centralia, WA, to Harold W. Collins and Wilma L. Collins Pries, who preceded her in death. She was a proud graduate of Toledo High School, Class of 1964, and attended the University of Washington.
On January 14, 1967, Diane married Arnold M. Thayer. They remained married until his death.
She was a dedicated employee of the City of Toledo, where she worked as a clerk, and enjoyed many years selling Avon products. Diane’s passions included swimming, ceramics, Tole painting, puzzles, and Legos.
Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. Diane was a member of Toledo Presbyterian Church, where her enduring faith filled her heart with joy from her teenage years until her passing.
Diane was deeply loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, and her brothers Bill (Pearl) Collins, Larry (Marie) Collins, and Lonnie (Kandy) Collins.
She is survived by her brother Les (Diana) Collins; her daughter Ann E. Brock; her son Thomas A. Thayer; her grandsons Andrew (Coni) Brock and Orion (Chloe) Brock; and her great-grandsons Owen and Onyx.
A funeral service to honor Diane’s life will be held at Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel on November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Following the service refreshments and conversation will be available in the social room at Fir Lawn. A graveside service will be held the same day at 2:00 p.m. at Claquato Cemetery in Chehalis, WA.
