Danny Paul Ponder

Danny Paul Ponder passed away Friday, October 20, 2023 at his home in Toledo, Washington. He was one day shy of turning 72. Danny was born October 21, 1951, in Silverton, Oregon to the late Paul and Clorinda Marie Ponder.

Danny enlisted into the Marine Corps in December of 1969, shortly after his 18th birthday, serving in the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in January 1974. Danny then served in the reserves until December 1975. After his service, Danny found a career in construction, working as a Union Laborer until his retirement from JH Kelley at the age of 62.

Danny is proceeded in death by his parents and brother, Cole Ponder. He is survived by his wife, Linda Ponder; sister Sheryl; sons Tim Chambers and Kevin Ponder; daughters Sandra Maxey, Sharon Tugman, Marie Garcia, and Ann Townsend; along with 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Services will be held on Sunday, November 19, at 1:00 pm at the Church of Christ in Toledo, Washington, with a potluck to follow.

Danny's ashes will be buried at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon at a date to be determined.
