Corby Eugene Turner, 85, of Toledo, WA, passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2025, at his home with his two sons by his side. Corby was a dedicated log truck hauler for Weyerhaeuser from 1960 to his retirement in 2004. He was a fixture in the local logging industry after spending 44 years navigating the winding forest roads and delivering the lifeblood of the Pacific Northwest to mills throughout the region. Corby was born on December 21st, 1939, in Centralia, WA, to Mose and Delilah (Jennie) Turner. He was a 1958 Toledo High School graduate and a lifelong resident of Toledo, WA.
Corby is survived by his four children: Lisa Colbert and husband Mike, Jeff Turner and fiancée Lisa Kelley, Tisa Turner, and Brian Turner and wife Mindy. Six grandchildren: Savannah, Kyrsten, Javin, Addyson, Haze, and Stetson. Two great-grandchildren: Wyatt and Wrenlee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mose and Delilah (Jennie) Turner; eight siblings: Myrtle, Viola, Roseanne, George (Buck), Marjorie, Sharon, Arthur (Dink), and Manson; and one granddaughter, Jaycee Marie.
Corby enjoyed playing poker, vehicle auctions, going to garage sales , and property investments. He was witty, sarcastic, and an endlessly hard worker, stubborn in the best way, and generous to a fault. Corby's passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends. His life was a life well-lived and well-loved life.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 29th, at 11:00 AM at Toledo Cemetery, 351 N. 5th Street, Toledo, WA., with a Social Gathering afterwards at Fir Lawn Funeral Chapel.
