Christopher Owen Sanders

Christopher Owen Sanders passed away peacefully surrounded by family and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday April 25, 2024. He was born March 5, 1972 in San Jose, California to Jimmy and Linda Sanders. Christopher leaves behind his beautiful wife Katheleen and young son Brodee.

Being the child of an Air Force veteran he lived and traveled to many places. Amongst those places were South Carolina, Okinawa Japan, Nebraska, and England before the family settled in Las Vegas. This is where Christopher spent his teenage and young adult years. In the 2000's he decided to move to Washington State where his grandmother Katharine lived and his father had relocated too. He eventually met and married his wife Katheleen and they settled in Oakville where they were raising their son and active in their church.

Christopher enjoyed the outdoors and loved camping with his friends and family. One of his favorite things to do was to have a bonfire (whether camping or at home) and relax and roast marshmallows for s'mores 

Christopher loved spending time with family and friends. He definitely enjoyed the holidays when everyone would get together for big dinners.

He enjoyed his job as a truck driver, working for VCT and cherished all the friendships he had made. He enjoyed life and had an infectious smile and laugh that made everyone feel good.

In addition to his wife and son, Christopher is survived by four step-children that he thought of as his own. They are Nicole, Alexis (Damon), D.J. (Brittney) and Jason (Lauren), as well as numerous grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart.

His is also survived by his three brothers, Steve (Letty), Allen (Vicki) and Rick, two aunts Jenny (Ron) Johnson and Kathy (Brian) Cassell, two uncles Wayne (Red) Sanders and J.R. (Suzanne) MacLaurin, three nieces and a nephew Stephanie, Autumn, Jackie and Allen Jr., numerous cousins and close friends (who were just like family), and his step-mother Dixie Sanders.

He was preceded in death by his dad Jimmy, his mother Linda, his grandmother's Katharine Sanders and Lorraine MacLaurin, his grandfather's Luther Sanders and John MacLaurin, his uncles Clyde and Earl (Bill).

Christopher will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Services will be held on May 18, 2024 at 3:00pm at the Oakville Methodist Church at 204 E Harris Ave, Oakville Washington. 

Additionally there will be a Celebration of Life service at a later date in Henderson Nevada for all of Christopher's family and friends in the Las Vegas area.
