Brenda Gay Clark, 79, of Toledo, Washington passed away on April 28th, 2025, after a courageous four-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Brenda began life’s journey on August 24, 1945, in Childersburg, Alabama, her proud parents were Joseph E. and Idella Irvin. Brenda was the youngest of five children which included James, Willene, Jacquline, Barbara, and Brenda. After living in the Southeast for fourteen years, Brenda’s family moved to the San Fernando Valley in Southern California.
Brenda met the love of her life, Ken Clark in 1966 and the two were married in 1967. Brenda and Ken joyously welcomed into their life’s daughter Kimberly in 1968 and son Kevin in 1971. The family shared many fun adventures traveling across the United States to visit family and friends.
To begin their retirement years, in 2003 Brenda and Ken moved from Palmdale, CA. to Toledo, WA. to enjoy their children and grandchildren. Kevin’s children Ke‘Lynn, Summer, Trevor, and Kimberly (David) Winston’s children Pierce and Brooke soon became the center of the Clark family’s world. From fishing, camping, swimming and motorcycle riding, the Clark family was always on the go and was the joy of Brenda and Ken’s life. Brenda cherished her time with family from preparing meals to tending scrapes and bruises. She was a steadfast caregiver to her husband Ken after he broke his back and nursed him back to health.
After family, Brenda’s passions were sewing and quilting. After moving to Washington, Brenda became active in the local quilting club where she received many awards for the quilts she created. Brenda enjoyed the fun and laughter with her many dear friends she discovered in the quilting club.
Brenda’s smile and laugh will be missed by all who knew her and profoundly missed by her husband Ken their children and grandchildren. We are all better people for having known Brenda.
